62 plate suji bachi kabuto with a rare construction method. The edges of the suji (raised ridges) have been doubled over and bent in an upside down u shape increasing the strength of each individual plate, this is the work of an unknown master armor maker, mixed-metal tehen kanamono, mabisashi and fukigaeshi edged with roped gilt fukurin, the five-lame Hineno jikoro of iron kiritsuke kozane russet lacquered and laced in dark-blue kebiki odoshi, and a gilt-copper nadeshiko (pink) mon.
Sixty-two-ken koseizan shaped suji bachi kabuto, by Fujiwara Iehisa, early Edo Period, 17th c, the edges of the suji are folded over to double the thickness, bowl interior lacquered gold, hon kozane komanju jikoro, six-stage tehen kanamono, kosho-no-kan, hasso kanamono and the roped fukurin on the fukigaeshi all in shakudo, Fujiwara Iehisa was a member of the Haruta group of armourers, his work is rated Jo Jo I (excellent).
