CD 317.5 CHAMBERS (glass insulator) Color: Aqua Description: Easily very near mint, with just a couple of little BB's on the bottom and a ding on the side. There is a 1" open bubble on the flange at the left mold line, as can be seen in the photo. Nicknamed the "Bell Chambers", this style, along with the CD 124.5 "Wing", compose the "Poor Man's" Chambers lightning system. CD 292 JUNE 17, 1890 (glass insulator) Color: Yellow Green Description: Two small base bruises. Kind of a two tone, with an almost completely aqua top, and a green bottom! A nice color variation in a power piece! (#7891)

CD 152 HEMINGRAY // No 40 (glass insulator) Color: Milky Aqua Description: Two rear base bruises. Heavy milky swirls create a nearly jade appearance throughout, adding a lot of pizzazz to what would normally be a common aqua piece. A great example of a milky Hemingray! (#4780)

CD 150 BROOKFIELD (glass insulator) Color: Aqua Description: Very near mint. Collectors have come to realize the rarity of these pieces and the value has increased accordingly. This is a nice example of Barclay's patented "Spiral Groove" insulator, and there's a significant difference between it and the more commonly found CD 147 style. See also the smaller style, CD 110, in lot 88. (#0965)

It is interesting to note that the "PATENT APPLIED FOR" is embossed over Hemingray's "PATENT DEC 19, 1871". The "W. U." embossed on the rear indicates this piece was to be used on Western Union lines, and the "W.E. MFG. CO." shows it was manufactured by Hemingray for the Western Electric Manufacturing Company. CD 117 AMPERSAND (glass insulator) Color: Deep Aqua Description: About very near mint. CD 117 insulators are embossed with an odd marking -- just an "&" (ampersand) on the skirt, and were produced by Brookfield. Some snow in the glass of this insulator adds interest.

CD 143 {Unembossed Withycombe} (glass insulator) Color: Icy Gray Description: 4" area of flaking on the ridge below the wire groove, otherwise just some typical flaking. This is the [110] variant with 16 circular rings above and 8 right hand spiral ridges below the wire groove. A tint of purple can be seen in the dome.

CD 263 HEMINGRAY, Blue Aqua; Uncommon Hemingray dripped variant!

CD 263 HEMINGRAY (glass insulator) Color: Blue Aqua Description: Larger power pieces often suffer significant damage to the drip points. These drips are perfectly shaped, with just a stress line through one of them. Several scuffs and scrapes here and there are mentioned for completeness. This sharp drip point variant is a little harder to find than the smooth base variant. A "must have" piece for any Hemingray or power collector!
