Evening dress worn by Queen Elizabeth II on a state visit to Paris in 1957 with gold and white beadwork. The dazzling, jewel-like details of the embroidered design include miniature bees, grasses, wheat and wild flowers.

Yoko London has revealed the special collection of pearl jewellery created for the upcoming V and A and Qatar Museum Authority exhibition Pearls, which opens on September 21. The brand has used freshwater pearls, Tahitian round and keshi pearls and Indonesian and Australian South Sea pearls for the collection, as well as diamonds and coloured gemstones.

The Canning Jewel belonged to Charles John Canning, Governor General of India 1856-61, It is said to have been given to a Mogul Emperor of India as a gift from the Medici Family after being crafted by Benvenuto Cellini a famous Florentine craftsman. The jewel was sold to the V & A in 1935 and still remains there today
