Post Office role play area. Children created their own sorting boxes, using shoe boxes, and decorated them with a photo of themselves and their names, to make sorting easy for the postman. In free time children used the class writing box to write letters to classmates, which they posted in the post box. When in the role play area, they sorted these into the sorting boxes. Children collected their post at the end of the week :-)

Writing area in the Post Office role play area, with a range of envelopes and note cards and interesting pens donated by parents and workplaces, for children to write letters to post in the post box. It really encouraged children to get writing :-)
