~Beddgelert (named after Gelert, a loyal dog belonging to the 13th century Welsh Prince Llewelyn the Great) is a popular stop for those visiting Snowdonia national park in North Wales. Two rivers run down from the hills of Snowdonia into Beddgelert & meet near a pretty stone bridge in the centre of the village. The area has a rich mining heritage. The village is also the setting for the Rupert the Bear adventures, having been home to Rupert's illustrator Alfred E Bestall~

Beddgelert, a magical little village in the heart of Snowdonia. Some of the best Christmas discos ever were held years ago at the Royal Goat Hotel there. A beautiful drive from Caernarfon in the moonlight and with a light covering of snow.
