ATMORE, Alabama -- In Muscogee, the language of the Creek Indians, there is no exact term for religion, according to Alex Alvarez, culture educator with the Poarch Band of Creek Indians. “In many of the indigenous languages of North America,” says Alvarez, “we do not have a word for religion because it was such an integral part of our daily lives that one could not separate it from living or breathing.”
