Hook Ladder Drill circa 1960
By using two Hook Ladders a fireman could scale the outside of a multi story building floor by floor. The length of the ladder was 13ft. 4ins. The width was 9ins. and the weight was 29lbs. The hook that held you on the window was 2ft. 2ins.long, with a 6inch bill. It was fitted with 8 teeth which helped to grip the window frame.
