A Wren flew into my house today, I am reminded of Celt bird lore...a Wren is an embodiment of the divine feminine, but was oddly known as the 'king' of birds due to her immense singing voice. Due to this, she was beloved by Bards and thought to inspire joy, light heartedness, and creativity in all it's forms...message received and understood!!

Great spotted woodpecker. About blackbird-sized and striking black-and-white. It has a very distinctive bouncing flight and spends most of its time clinging to tree trunks and branches, often trying to hide on the side away from the observer. Its presence is often announced by its loud call or by its distinctive spring 'drumming' display. The male has a distinctive red patch on the back of the head and young birds have a red crown.

British garden birds - Greater spotted woodpecker Hes beautiful, would love one of these in the garden.

Two goldfinches have a mid-air fight after struggling to get enough space on a bird feeder in a British back garden. Photographer Laurie Campbell snapped away from a hide in his garden for 30 hours to get a picture he was happy with. Laurie, from Berwick-on-Tweed, Northumberland, said: "It can take weeks for the goldfinches to find this bait but once they do, they are hooked."

Great tit

The great tit - not quite as pretty as its cousin the blue tit but their call always gives me a chuckle, like a squeaky bedspring!

Great spotted woodpecker. We have a fammily of them here

the woodpecker is usually symbolic of the Devil, or of heresy, which undermines human nature and leads man to damnation.
