Leucojum 'Gravetye Giant'
Above bold clumps of narrow strap-shaped leaves stand stout, upright stems carrying graceful heads of white, bell-shaped flowers. Although called Summer Snowflake they are in flower with the late daffodils in stiff, heavy soil, even by the waters edge. 61 cm.
A beautiful and valuable evergreen carpeter which will flourish in sun or shade, spreading its dark-lobed, glossy green leaves, to contrast with sprays of bright yellow strawberry flowers in spring. Spreading habit but not invasive. 10 cm.

Tanacetum parthenium 'Aureum'
Golden Feverfew. Lime-yellow, finely divided foliage throughout the year, charming to grow or pick, young plants sometimes seen in bedding schemes. Sprays of tiny white daisies, throughout summer. Short lived but will seed around and retain its cheerful presence. Height 30 cm.
Arum italicum sub. 'Marmoratum'
These exotic leaves unroll from the leaf-mould in late autumn, continuing to grow throughout the winter, bowing beneath bitter frost, but standing undamaged immediately it thaws. By April they are full height, dark glossy green, spear-shaped, and veined with ivory. In September, above the bare earth, appear stems of red berries. Foliage 38 cm.

This diminutive woodland plant from Japan will thread itself through light leaf-mould soil, or a peat bed in part shade. Sprays of tiny rounded leaves and heads of fluffy rosy-mauve flowers stand only a few inches above soil level on wiry stems. Slowly but surely makes a small dense mat. This improved form originated in Kew. Height 12-15 cm.

Differs from T.g. Rubra group in that the leaves become veined and stained with maroon in summer, while the flowers have dark stems and pink-stained rims to slightly larger green bells. Retains and intesifies the foliage colour overwinter. Forms large clumps. Flowers May-June. Height. 60 cm.
