Beat and Rhythm Charts

I love how many SO many ideas can be shared and gained via other people blogs and blog posts. It truly is amazing, I wish blogs were around when I first started teaching, the ideas really are endless! In fact, on my last post about Beat Strips Alisha (check out her fabulous blog by clicking here) replied about using beat charts for songs in kindergarten and first grade. This got me thinking, I've not shared these before, so here goes! I have to admit, I can't take credit for the charts…

Fall Rhythms Activity for Kindergarten/First Grade

I was inspired by another blogger, Emily at thesweetestmelody to make my own "Fall Rhythms" pack. Used it yesterday with kindergarteners and it was a great first lesson in "reading" rhythms! Enjoy!

Freebie Friday - Beat, Rhythm, Ta, & Ti-Ti

Wow! Sorry my Friday post is now being posted very early on a Sunday! It ended up taking me a little bit longer than I thought to organize everything I wanted before posting my blog post. I have been busy working on a BUNCH of files for my Teachers Pay Teachers store. All the files I plan on using with my own 1st Grade students or have already used with my 1st grade students. I'm very excited about them! (To see the actual files click on the center of the pictures provided.) First, I put…

Annoying Aliens! A Center Game for Practicing Ta, Ti-Ti, and Rest

**See the end of this post for links to other versions of this game!** Those annoying aliens are at it again! I now have another version that uses quarter note, barred eighth notes, and quarter rest that I've just upload to my Teachers Pay Teachers' store. This is a great game to have for small groups or music centers! I made it with anywhere from 2 to 4 players in mind. Students start out with a stack of rhythm cards face down: There are also some "human!" cards mixed in. It's your choice…
