I ❤️ Numicon. The tactile and visual element it adds to number is fantastic. At the moment in Reception we are really just at the exploration stage, so I've but putting the numicon out with the pai.

Numicon bingo is a super reinforcement for numicon recognition and counting. This is a 6 player game that my students are mostly able to play independently. Some children recognise the numicon pieces instantly while others count the dots. I use this activity as a warm up before introducing the main number concept. #math #number #numicon

Numicon | Adding resource | Numicon is a very powerful way to teach about addition. We're still developing our understanding of 'count count count', this time using the numicon pieces. It gives a very visual representation of the size of numbers and how they combine to give a bigger number.
