La Casa Roja, a house on the outskirts of Chennai, is a cost-effective and environmentally friendly structure set amid an old fruit orchard. The team designed the proposal by keeping the orchard in mind. This was a late 19th-century bungalow in Ooty for which we were fortunate to be the conservation consultants. Looking at the architectural character, there are some Scottish design features. All the rooms had timber floors except the kitchen and toilets. The Interior designer and the landscape architect came from England.
