"Rose & Lace" wallpaper design by Edward Bawden (1938). Known as one of the ‘Bardfield Wallpapers’ designed in collaboration with John Aldridge for commercial production, before the war intervened. The works were originally produced as linocuts, but were transferred to woodblock for commercial production by Cole and Son Ltd in 1946, when they were well received.
edwardbawden: Deer and Leaf (1927) Bawden began to develop wallpaper designs in the mid-1920s, working in linocut. This is a fragment of what appears to be an early experiment. From the Fry Gallery Collection. Edward Bawden.
