These guitars were the first generation of Aluminums built at Specimen Products. They have the basic bolt-together aluminum body and bolt-on neck. The first aluminum guitar and bass were commissioned by members of the band Tar in 1992. These instruments quickly became a visual signature for the band and won prominent feature on their album covers.
