"I hope that all of my students see me as a strong, brave, capable woman who can do a dangerous job with ease and expertise. Many of the girls I've taught have told me that I've inspired them to try something scary (welding and cutting) because I'm the one teaching it and they felt safe learning from me. If this had been taught by a man, they wouldn't have tried it. Now all the girls I teach love to weld and build things! The biggest misconception of this job and trade is that it's a man's job.
