Scottish sculptor Rob Mulholland has created this art installation at the David Marshall Lodge in Scotland titled Vestige. Mulholland’s idea behind the installation seems twofold: to create a vestige of the people who once occupied the land until following World War I, when they were re-located while forests were planted to generate timber and to make people reflect upon man’s impact on the nature.

This summer, the Tower Of London will be surrounded by a sea of crimson. This installation, conceived by artist Paul Cummins and designer Tom Piper, will commemorate each and every British or Colonial fatality from World War 1 by planting 888, 246 red ceramic poppies in a flowing sea around the tower.
