This picture was taken at Embleton Bay in Northumberland. Lucie Green, of the Mullard Space Science Laboratory, said: "At the moment we are at the height of the Sun's activity cycle, and it's ultimately energy from the Sun that creates the Northern Lights." The lights were seen from many parts of the UK, including here at Bow Fiddle Rock in Portknockie, Moray.
It"s not just in Texas where the stars at night shine deep and bright. Exciting moves have been revealed to create what would be the third largest area of protected starry dark sky in the world in deepest Northumberland.
