"Marunouchi" (from the series: "Tokyo the 50s") in 1954-58 by Ikkō Narahara (Fukuoka Prefecture 1931). Self-taught japanese photographer. Narahara's work often depicts isolated communities and extreme conditions. In the series "Tokyo the 50's" Narahara displayed a particular facility for abstraction and the staging of everyday scenes in strict graphic compositions.

This photo is a great play on position, the dog looks to eclipse the gentlemen who is fishing, because the dog is in the foreground, while the guy is in the background of the photo. Also the fact that there aren't many dark shades, just many grey tones, it gives off a soft feel to this specific photo.
