When creating my evaluations, I have used a range of different media forms to present my information. I have used PowToon, Youtube, Prezi, Slideshare/KeyNote & Pinterest. I now feel very confident in all of these softwares/websites and I am happy with how my work has been presented.
Since September 2014, I have been tracking my research and production on blogger. This was my first time using this site and was unaware how it worked. However, I am now confident using the website and I believe I understand how it works.
I created my magazine using a Mac. Beforehand, I had rarely used one of these so I was unfamiliar with the software and how it works. Looking back, I feel a lot more confident and just as comfortable with using a Mac as well as a standard PC.
Whilst constructing my magazine, I used a lot of different technologies - some of which I hadn't had the experience of using before. To edit some of my photographs, I used online softwares ‘Pixlr’ and ‘Fotor’.
I used Pixlr to create a hyper reality of some of my photos - I changed the hair colour of a model from red to purple. This means that the reader will falsely believe that the model actually has purple hair, therefore creating a hyper reality.
For the majority of my pictures, I edited them with ‘Fotor’. This let me smooth out skin and get rid of any blemishes on my models in my photographs. This gave the pictures a much cleaner look. I preferred using Fotor as I found it a lot easier to use. I also felt that it gave the desired effect that I was looking for.
Before making my magazine, I also looked at ‘In Design’, however I found this a lot more difficult to use so decided to use Pages. I have learnt that there are a lot of different softwares that can be used to create media products like magazines.
To take my pictures, I used the iPhone 6 Plus. This has a 8-MP camera with 1.5 focus pixels, True Tone Flash and autofocus. This helped me to get clear images that were of a good quality and could be enlarged and not blur.
The autofocus effect was also very helpful as it made the camera focus on the model and not any other background distractions. This made the image as focused on the model as it could be. There are probably other cameras that would have provided a much better quality than the ones I took but I decided to use this one as it was very easy access (on my phone).
