Woolwich Road, Charlton.
Morning rush hour on a misty day. A 177 bus bound for Blackfriars and Embankment can be seen in the queue of traffic on Woolwich Road, Charlton. On the right is Stone Sports Ground, which flooded one winter, it was left as a lake for many years after with tennis nets sticking out of the water. It has been redeveloped as Stone Lake Retail Park. Everything in the picture has gone, and the road is now a dual carriageway with a large roundabout around here. August 1968.
