Dolly the sheep at National Museums Scotland. Dolly was the first cloned mammal ever to be created from an adult cell, her birth was of huge excitement both to the scientific world and to the public. Pioneering work at The Roslin Institute near Edinburgh had led to a world first and Scotland's scientific standing was given a major boost. Dolly was given to National Museums Scotland and her remains were conserved by our taxidermists as an exhibit. She is on display in the Connect Gallery.

Queen's Gallery This Victorian building was originally built as Holyrood Free Church (a congregation of the Free Church of Scotland, then from 1900 United Free Church of Scotland), but was last used for worship in 1915.
