New from Loughborough in Feb 66 and allocated to Bristol Bath Road , it went on to become Class 47/0 No. 47254 in March 74, Class 47/4 No. 47651 in March 86 and No. 47806 in Aug 89. Withdrawn in July 2002. Rebuilt for Virgin Trains as Class 57/3 'Thunderbird' No.57309 in June 03 and named 'Brains' until March 2012. It was then acquired by Direct Rail Services and named 'Pride of Crewe' in June 2012. (Derek Jones)
