FAIRFIELD CHURCH, Romney Marsh, Kent ~ the area was reclaimed from the sea in the thirteenth century, and the village of Fairfield always seems to have existed as little more than a scattered rural community. The church is still in regular use however frequently becomes an island as the fields around it become flooded.
