Dzogchen means 'Great Perfection' and it's a tradition of teachings in Indo-Tibetan Buddhism aimed at discovering and continuing in the ultimate ground of existence. It is also known as Atiyoga (utmost yoga). The symbol representing Dzogchen is the Tibetan letter A and the this thangka painting is based on the design of an initiation card called tsakli. Tsakli cards are Buddhist or Bon ritual images that serve as visualization aid during initiation rituals and meditation practice.
