A huge heart-felt thanks to Jordy Van Der Pijll & Marie Rajic for their generous contribution to our Y.E.S Football Academy On their recent trip to Feeding Dreams, these two supporters brought over 3 massive bags of good quality boots, bibs and balls for our academy.
THANK YOU to IFA Sport Dubai, for their amazing donation of brand new football jerseys for our kids at Feeding Dreams Cambodia. Our wonderful charity rider Melanie Shellien brought the donated kits over from the UAE. Our kids were then able to represent IFA during their game verses the riders…
Meet our very hard working and talented Ms Hoeum Srey Mao - School Meals Chef <3 Our experienced School Meals Chef ensures all meals cooked for the children are cooked with love, through our Feeding Dreams Cambodia's School Meal Program. And we are able to provide free school meals to 600 to 800 nutritious meals per day to our malnourished children.
For every 1,000 babies born in Cambodia in 2015, 25 die before their first birthday. Cambodia remains one of the poorest countries in Asia. The necessary infrastructure to lift millions out of poverty has not been a priority for the Cambodian government.
Education promotes equality and lifts people out of poverty. It teaches children how to become good citizens. Education is not just for a privileged few, it is for everyone. It is a fundamental human right.
Have you recently volunteered or even visited Feeding Dreams Cambodia ? <3 Please take the time to share a few sentences of your experience with us ? Reviews are so important to the continued success of our volunteer and group programs and without them we simply would not be where we are today.
Day 8 - “The Finish Line” After a very long journey, we woke up on day 8 eagerly anticipating our final destination of Feeding Dreams Cambodia. What the group didn’t realise, was that there was more in store for this particular day.
DAY 7 - “Pre-Angkor Temples & an Aussie BBQ” This morning we set out into the strongest head winds possible, we struggled for a good 30km until we turned down a dirt road into a secret location. Without notice, we were sheltered from the wind cycling through a beautiful forest, all of a sudden we began to see incredible temples.
DAY 6 - “Hot & Hilly” This morning’s scenery was up there with the best on our trip. We climbed hills alongside the river bank and admired the mangroves and islands scattered throughout the Mekong.
We thought yesterday was jaw dropping scenery, well today took it to a whole new level. Bumpy roads in the morning lead us through effervescent green rice fields, lakes and quaint dusty villages. Again we were constantly "high fiving" young kids as they flew out of the houses to say hello. You just never get tired of it. In fact, it’s absolutely infectious.
The first day of of the inaugural ride... Let's just call it COLLIER day. Yep Clere COLLIER managed to be the first ever on the Feeding dreams ride to come off her bike within the first hour. In fairness to Clere, she did so on a road which was being laid as she cycled over it, the equivalent of quicksand . So here in perpetuity for the ride, any crash will be forever known as a "COLLIER”.
Before you is 14 riders from around the world that have come together to cycle across the Kingdom of wonder for all of the children and families at Feeding Dreams. All have reached their targets, we are so proud.
As many of you know Arlene moved to London at the beginning of last year to pursue a different route in her career while still being an integral part of Feeding Dreams. It was a big change from Siem Reap and she was initially nervous that she had made the right decision but was determined to make it home and make some new friends.
Joe is our new volunteer manager and will be the first point of contact for new and returning volunteers. Joe will coordinate your stay with us, collection from the airport and any trips you would want to take while with us.
