Košice

Kosice State Hospital in 1928. This state-run oval-shaped complex of 14 buildings constructed in the pavilion style had in 1927 830 beds, and employed 35 doctors and 88 nurses (50 nuns, 38 civilian). At this time, it was the only modern large-scale healthcare provider in the region of eastern Slovakia and Subcarpathian Ruthenia. Source: J.
