'Instead of a Cross, an Albatross' (detail) Created in a week’s residency at Walcot Chapel this month, Fiona made the piece in response to the site, current waste issues, and Coleridge’s Rime of the Ancient Mariner. It was inspired by the plight of 100’s of albatross chicks dying from stomachs filled with plastic (http://www.chrisjordan.com/gallery/midway/#CF000478%2019x25). The work is a kind of altarpiece. The steel and copper components echo the trees and shadows through the window.
