Pub Heritage Site

One of the joys of Britain's pubs is their variety, from simple rural pubs to late-Victorian extravaganzas. CAMRA's Pub Heritage Group protects and promotes our historic pub interiors, and maintains the national inventory of historic pub interiors, a list of those interiors that have remained intact and/or have features of exceptional historic or architectural importance.

City of Belfast

Cafe Vaudeville, Belfast

Exuding all the glamour of Baz Luhrmann's wildest fantasy - the only things missing from this latest downtown watering hole are a girl on a swing and a bird in a gilded cage, but we're sure they're working on it. Another old bank HQ which has been tastefully converted into a temple of hedonism. The upstairs 'Bolli Bar' attracts local 'celebs' and perma-tanned wannabes, leaving the ground floor flirting zone to Chantelles, Prestons and the occasional Galloway. Cheesy retro tunes sit…

The Crown Bar. Belfast.

The Crown Liquor Saloon in Great Victoria Street, Belfast is one of Victorian gin palaces which once flourished in the industrial cities of Britain. Today wonderfully preserved and owned by the National Trust, the Crown is still well used by the people of Belfast. The interior of the bar is no less decorative than the exterior, boasting beautiful carved snugs, and an ornate bar, floor and ceiling. The year 1885 was an era of emancipation in Ireland, which saw a sharp increase in the building…

The Leaning Albert Memorial Clock - Belfast

The Albert Memorial Clock is a tall clock tower situated at Queen's Square in Belfast. It was completed in 1869 and is one of the best known landmarks of Belfast. As a result of being built on wooden piles on marshy, reclaimed land around the River Farset, the top of the tower leans four feet off the perpendicular. Due to this movement, some ornamental work on the belfry was removed in 1924 along with a stone canopy over the statue of the Prince. Being situated close to the docks, the tower…
