Same Stock, Different Cabs HR scan
In the era of ultra-conservative tube rolling stock design the classic 1938 stock design (red), was simply built from aluminium in 1959 to create another generation of tube stock. The flat cab end was the only significant design change. These two were caught at Ruislip depot in 1986.

1938 stock Queens Park
A Bakerloo Line train of 1938 stock enters Queens Park station via road 24 (basically the southbound line) of the shed north of the station. In shed road 22 a similar train has terminated and waits to take up another southbound working to 'Elephant'. The far platform and the just one out of shot to the left are used by the BR Euston-Watford dc line services. In those days (maybe now?) the 4th rail extended through those platforms south to Kilburn High Road - and I once went there on a 1938…
The Metropolitan/Piccadilly Line station in Uxbridge in May 1980. This all dates from 1938, the new station being incorporated into a parade of shops, replacing an earlier structure of 1904. Pentax SP1000/50mm Ilford FP4
