This is a pencil sketch like most of my other SotW drawings, but I could not resist adding the blue hair after scanning it in… it’s just not Billie Eilish without the blue. Oh yeah, the original (sans blue) is in the Studio Store.

This week’s subject is Carl Switzer AKA “Alfalfa” from the classic Hal Roach “Our Gang” (later known as “The Little Rascals”) shorts. While the series stretched from the early 1920’s to the mid 1940’s, with the kid actors obviously aging out and being replaced constantly, the era most people are familiar with was the late 1930’s, when Alfalfa, Spanky, Darla, Buckwheat, and Porky were prominent characters. Here’s my sketch of Snoop Dogg… he’s got a great face to caricature. Snoop has a long, lean headshape but his eyes are very far apart… they almost seem to touch the outsides of his head. With a more serious expression he has sharp, high cheekbones, but when he does his wide stoner’s grin like this he has small, round “cherry tomato” cheeks that overpower the cheekbones. He also has a very lean jawline and a small chin. Finally he has big, heavy eyelids and a strong brow.
