This is a photo of my freshman year roommates tattoo behind her ear. She is deaf in one ear, which throws off her hearing, but not her balance. She is actually a gymnast so she has excellent balance. She does lean and tilt her head subconsciously when listening to conversations. I thought this was a relevant post about the senses considering she only has half the audition ability as a “normal” person! #BiologyStory

I'm not deaf, but I have learned ASL and I love deaf culture. It is important to learn deaf history. It is important to be an ally. 🤟❤️

When people try to talk to but don’t know you’re deaf from that ear, so they think you’re ignoring them: get a tattoo. Hopefully they’ll understand. 😅
