This would be a fun project to do with a toddler. We tied our classroom camera to each child's wrist and then followed the child as they took photos. A display for each child was created containing a few photos they had taken as well as a larger copy of a photo of them photographing an area and the matching picture. The project was displayed in the art gallery at the high school we were located on.
