This photograph is the cover picture on my autobiography 'A Policeman's Tale' - it was taken in May 1967 soon after the Lincolnshire Constabulary amalgamated with Lincoln City Police and became Lincolnshire Police. Salford City Police Sergeant

PC Mohammed Shafiq on duty in the mid 1970s. Known to all as Mo, he joined Lancashire Constabulary on February 8, 1973. He joined Greater Manchester Police as part of the amalgamation of forces in 1974. He was the first non-white officer to serve in either Force. He served the public for 31-years before retiring at the rank of detective inspector in 2004. He was awarded the Queen’s Police Medal (QPM) in 2005. www.gmp.police.uk
