A:FORT VANCOUVER,OREGON TERRITORY,c.1846 Named after British Royal Navy Captain George Vancouver,who explored the northwestern Pacific Coast region in the 1790s,Fort Vancouver was built in 1829 and served as the administrative headquarters and main supply depot of the Hudson’s Bay Company in the Columbia District of what was to become Oregon Territory.The following structures were enclosed by a 15ft-high stockade measuring approximately 730 by 320ft around the year 1846

Russo American Treaty - This treaty set the boundaries between the Russian and American claims. This treaty was signed in April 17th, 1824 in St.Petersburg but was not put into effect until January 12, 1825. This gave Russia the claim to waht we know as Oregon Country
