Persian blue

In my recent trip to Iran, I picked up this hand crafted, hand painted (unknown artist) in Esfahan(Isfahan), The Iranian city of craftsmanship. (More info on the city) From my series of Stock/Product photography. Strobist: Single 430EXII bounced off the wall from left hand side.

Taken at the gateway to the Imam Mosque located in Isfahan, Iran. I could not think of any other title but the sky. This mosque used an original technique called haft rangi (seven colors) to make Persian architecture more resplendent. With a loupe you can observe mosaic tiles in dark persian blue, light turkish blue, white, black, yellow, green and biscuit.
