As a stepmom, we are damned if we do and damned if we don't. After expressing unconditional love for my step kids, I was accused of trying to replace their mom. That couldn't be further from the truth and I'm shedding light on how stepmoms feel about loving their step kids and the stigma that is apparent.
I could go on and on about how wrong this is. A "step mom" will never do everything a bio mom does. Along with that, saying the step mom gives up her happiness and all that like the bio mom doesn't? Stop asking for credit where it isn't due. Stop trying to be up to par with someone you can't compete with. Know your role & don't forget the bio mom does 10x what you do & doesn't prance around asking for recognition so why should you?
