It's time for the May monthly report. See past reports here. This month's report is going to be brief. I didn't do a whole lot of sewing in the month of May. It was busy, but just no sewing-wise. We got our second shots of the COVID vaccine, and celebrated our newly vaccinated reality by seeing my parents for the first time in a year and a half! I'm back to share my 2021 Crafty Goals. I'm not making nearly as many this year, in order to focus my efforts. As I mentioned in my 2020 Yearly Review, I wanted my goals for this year to be less project specific and more broad. I followed that with one exception. I really want to finally sew a jacket! Ruth Watkin ✂ on Instagram: "In my humble opinion, before the sewing machine came along, we attached our skirts and bodices together in much more pleasing ways. This is one of them. The skirt seam allowance (on top) is folded back onto the skirt rather than into the waistband (bottom). Making the waistband much less bulky, because the bulk is moved to the skirt. It's a lovely original technique for anyone out there #historybounding I wrote an article on several different hand joining methods
