Agoodtimebestlife Southeast Asia Beach A Koh Pha Ngan, Thailand Photography Gallery

Ko Pha-Ngan is a Thai island in Surat Thani Province, Southeast Thailand. Ko Pha-Ngan is famous for the full moon Party at Hat Rin beach. Ko Pha-Ngan has two twin islands: Ko Samui which is larger in the South and smaller Ko Tao in the North. The name Ko Pha-Ngan comes from the word "Ngan", which means "sand bar" in Southern Thailand because there are many sand bars in coastal areas. Ko Pha-Ngan is a long favorite of the former King of Thailand. For example, Rama V or Chulalongkorn visited Ko Pha-Ngan 14 times during his reign. A bronze drum from Dongson Culture (500-100 BC), which was found on Ko Samui in 1977, proves that more than 2000 years ago there were settlements on Ko Samui, Ko Pha-Ngan and their islands. Some historians believe that the first group to move to Ko Pha-Ngan was a Sea-Gypsy Muslim, who traveled by boat from Peninsular Malaysia. Even today, there are several Muslim residents. During the last century, the island's population continued to expand, first preserving the sea and land and coconut farming. Then, tin mining begins to participate in the economy. In the 1970s, the mining industry launched and finally shouted. Tourism takes place in the next ten years. Now the island is mainly a tourist destination. While fisheries and coconut farming are still important for the local economy. The interior of the mountains is usually inaccessible. More than half of the island's designated National Parks and Ko Pha-Ngan have more than 80 km2 of the relatively pristine rainforest with a variety of flora and fauna. It is also considered a spiritual place with many Buddhist temples around the island and prosperous spas, sanctuaries, and meditations. 10 Best Southeast Asia Beach
