Steve McQueen, known as 'King of Cool' in the 1960s-1970s, was by 1974 the world's highest paid movie star - then dropped out to focus on motorcycle racing. Earlier, in 1971, through his company Solar Productions he made the classic motorcycle documentary 'On Any Sunday'. Apart from motorbikes he raced cars and flew planes. Sadly he died in 1980 of asbestos-related cancer aged just 50. [jamezorlando]
