I do a test spot then add more water or paint as needed. Then I wipe it back with a cloth. I will wait to see how it looks when it dries and determine if it needs a second coat. Steps are listed below ✨ - I mixed @fusionmineralpaint Algonquin with water (1 part paint to 8 parts water roughly). In my opinion a thinner paintwash is more forgiving than a thicker one, you can always apply more coats to reach the desired colour/opacity - Working in sections, I brushed on the paintwash and then wiped back almost immediately using a damp cloth.
