If you are doing a unit on Vocabulary or semantics you must teach the use of context clues. Speech class is a very good place to teach this skill. There are five basic forms of context clues, with “ Explanation or Definition Context clues “ being one of the most basic forms to teach. If your students struggle with limited semantics skills I suggest teaching Context clues in isolation in your speech therapy session.
