How Do I Look is an award-winning documentary about the vogue (dance) that emerged out of the Harlem Drag Ball community. Dancers enter in competitive battles known as Balls to win trophies in various categories. They are judged based on their dancing skills, appearance, and attitude. How Do I Look documents some of these fierce competitions, revealing with a respectful sensibility that these Balls create a community for an underground LGBT subculture.

Voguing, a dance consisting of angular poses in time to music, was catapulted into the mainstream by Madonna in 1990. Photographer Chantal Regnault followed the predominantly African-American and Latin ballroom scene at its height, capturing the energy of balls where men competed against one another, and the 'houses' that took inspiration from fashion labels.
