Wire paper mache sculpture

Fiberglass, a typical material for creating tough plastic objects, is most often shaped and manipulated using a mold, or negative design depression. However, using a negative mold is not the only way to shape fiberglass. In order to create large fiberglass pieces or sculptures, positive molds are often the best option.

callender baker on Instagram: "anthropologie, spring display prototype, 2017. these lightweight sculptural pieces were made of rebar wire and tissue paper mache. hot wax was then brushed over the surface to create texture. they were for a large scale installation inspired by the glass artist, chihuly. the final installation featured 60ish of these pieces of varying sizes cascading from the ceiling of the mezzanine in the georgetown store. this prototype was not store directive, however i pr
