"Hursty" Workout, Australian Hero Games WOD | WODwell
This Hero WOD is dedicated to Queensland Police Officer SGT Brendan Hurst who paid the ultimate price for his country on July 15, 2007. He spent 17 years in the QLD police force and then embarked on a journey to help rebuild the Iraq police academy. Brendan was killed when his vehicle was hit by an IED. He left behind a loving partner, Tanya, and a 22-day old son, Max.
"Daniel McCartney" Hero WOD
One athlete works at a time. On a running clock, perform the work in the order written. Break up reps among partners any way you choose. Score is the total time it takes to complete the entire workout. This Hero WOD is dedicated to Pierce County Officer Daniel McCartney who ended his watch on January 8, 2018. He was a police officer for many years, a Navy vet, a coach at CrossFit Yelm (Yelm, WA, USA) and a father of 3.
"Hardcore Harnett" Hero WOD
Andy was a Calgary Police officer for 12 years. He loved fitness and encouraged others to join him in the gym regularly. Sgt. Andrew Harnett was killed in the line of duty on Dec 31, 2020, in Calgary Alberta Canada. This workout was designed by a few police officers that worked with Andy and endorsed by Natural High CrossFit (Okotoks, Alberta, Canada). "Leath" Hero WOD
Dedicated to Officer Breann Leath who was shot and killed while responding to a domestic disturbance call at 1803 Edinburge Square on April 9, 2020. Officer Leath was a veteran of the National Guard and had served with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department for three years. She is survived by her 3-year-old son, her parents, who both serve with the Marion County Sheriff's Office, and two sisters who have worked in corrections.
"Marco DiFranco" Hero WOD
Dedicated to Police Officer Marco DiFranco, Chicago Police Dept., who died on April 2, 2020, after contracting COVID-19 while on duty. He was the first Chicago Police officer to die from the virus. Officer DiFranco had served with the Chicago Police Department for 21 years. Officer DiFranco received 154 awards in his career including a Superintendent's Honorable Mention and Special Commendation. This workout was designed and submitted to WODwell by Coach George Grandolfo of Strong As Oak.
