One of the most interesting subjects to me is military history. Maybe because most of my male ancestors were in the Civil war, World War I, World War II and the Korean War. A Brit by the name of Thomas Burberry established his heritage luxury brand Burberry in 1856, and patented his own water-repellent fabric in 1879. Burberry is known for their classic double-breasted trench coat with signature shoulder straps and D-rings (for holding equipment during WW1). The coat also features ten buttons down the front, waist and wrist belts, wide lapels, a gun flap and raglan sleeves in their iconic khaki colour with plaid lining.
