This is me writing my 1st real song for my Part A. After a couple of attempts I managed to grasp the basics of music writing. I now feel more confident in writing lyrics in my own time with thanks to the support of a specialist music writer, which is something I would have never done before.
To share the Part C of my Arts Award, I created this poster of my musical hero, Meek Mill. He inspires me because he came from nothing and grew up in a tough background to become one of the leading artists in his genre. I sprayed the background and made the stencil in the background myself, which I am really proud of.
I really enjoyed my lyrics taster; I've always wanted to rap and I really liked the lyrics arts award advisor, Micky Grimm, a local rapper. Because of this, I decided that I would specialise in lyrics writing for my arts challenge.
We went on a group visit to Lea Green in North Derbyshire, an outdoor education and learning center where we got to play on their assault course and do activities where we had to work as a team. It was loads of fun.
For my Part C heroes and heroines I researched and completed worksheets on Meek Mill. What I learned about Meek Mill is that he has been through alot in his life. This is important to me because it shows that it doesnt matter what you go through in life because you can start from nothing and still make it famous.
