Re-purpose the fronts of old button-up shirts as quilt backs. No more slip-stitching edges closed, dealing with zippers. Just sew wrong sides together and bind edges and insert pillow form as shown or sew right sides together, unbutton, turn right-side out, insert pillow form. Very comfy if you sew a pillow from hubby's flannel shirt.
Memory made...this is a shirt from my dad's closet after he recently passed away. Since it was his trademark and he was a connoisseur of western, two pockets, I wanted a way to remember him. Came up with the idea to make pillowcases from his shirts. Also, since the snaps still work, you can take the pillow out and wash the cases as needed. But really the best thing ever is that if I close my eyes and hug the pillow, it's a fractional resemblance to hugging him.
