Milton S. Hershey, age thirty, 1887. - A descendant of German and Swiss immigrants who arrived in Pennsylvania sometime in the 1700s, Milton Hershey spoke "Pennsylvania Dutch" and inherited a Germanic propensity for frugality, perseverance, and hard work.
