Op 10 december 2011 was het huis waar Anne Frank met haar familie woonde voordat ze moesten onderduiken, open voor het publiek. Slechts 1 dag mocht een aantal gegadigden rond kijken in de woning op het Merwedeplein. De woning is gerestaureerd en teruggebracht in de stijl die het toen had. At the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam: Movable bookcase in front of entrance to the Secret Annex. Amazing to see if you read and loved the book growing up. (I actually bought the ebook and re-read it on the flight home.
