Op 10 december 2011 was het huis waar Anne Frank met haar familie woonde voordat ze moesten onderduiken, open voor het publiek. Slechts 1 dag mocht een aantal gegadigden rond kijken in de woning op het Merwedeplein. De woning is gerestaureerd en teruggebracht in de stijl die het toen had.
