this picture is surreal because it is showing a teen loosing pieces from his face. This shows that he is either dying or falling apart. I choose this picture because it is the most satisfying and surreal one i could find. - Jorge Figueroa Block D.

If you could change your past or jump into the future, what would you do…what would you do? Morris Berman’s ‘Destiny’ is a page turning book exploring the possibilities that will keep you wanting more…”and then, it happened. The two of them were lying in bed together somewhere-her apartment?…

Ed Fairburn, "Deutschland," ink on a 1977 road map of Germany. The work I produce is largely figurative, and through the exploration of the human form I examine the patterns and structures which exist across the body. Emphasis is placed on the ‘fragmented’ texture of the skin, a process which has encouraged my work to evolve from its occupation of plain paper to the potential occupation of other, pre-fragmented or pre-patterned surfaces.

I like the fact that this artist has used the proportions of the face in a very abstract way by moving the features. This shows together and apart because all the features are there but they are in a muddled order.

Jessica Rimondi I like how the paint validates the emotions and expressions within this portrait, by the limited palette it structures the shapes and forms. Then to have a deeper depth of what is trying to be convey and incorporated by the use of the paint with the techniques being able to enforce the concepts. I would like to experiment with my own developments to have a source of vivid expression, to allow the painting to speak for itself and not have any narrative connotation towards it…
